Michela Herbert

Michela Herbert is an antiquities consultant and art crime researcher. She served as Assistant Project Manager at the Museum of Looted Antiquities, where she continues to help with data analysis of repatriated antiquities. Herbert used OSINT research on MOLA’s repatriation data to publish a network workflow for antiquities trafficking networks. Her research has ranged from economic valuations of youth heritage sites in Rome to the soft power potential of international repatriation. Her M.A. thesis is on auction houses’ legal and ethical alignment in antiquities sales. Herbert is a current M.A. candidate in Cultural Heritage at the American University of Rome.
